Welcome to my little corner of the Web
Hi, my name is Lorenzo Kidd and art has always been one of my favorite hobbies. This amazing medium called the Internet is allowing me to share my hobby with all of you. I am an not a professional artist and have had very little formal training. I have learned what I know through trial and error, reading art books, studying artists whose work I admire and most recently, by utilizing the numerous art tutorials on the World Wide Web.
When creating digital art (digistyle), I use Painter and Photoshop, along with a Wacom Intuous2 tablet. Painter provides me with a host of artists’ tools while Photoshop gives me incredible control over image manipulation. The tablet allows me to render on the computer as if I’m working with canvas or paper. The versatility of these software packages enable me to try things that I could not duplicate with traditional art media. For example, I can paint in watercolor and oils, add some airbrushing and wax pastels, all on the same image. The images that currently appear on this website were all rendered completely on the computer. I also use a scanner to digitize my 'hand-drawn on paper' artwork for further reworking on the computer.
When I work in traditional mediums, my tools of choice are pencil or charcoal. I have been recently experimenting with a number of traditional mediums. These include pastel, colored pencil, pen & ink, watercolor, oil and most recently, acrylic.
I will be adding to the Digistyle website regularly. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy creating them.
